WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Warwick police are investigating a home invasion and assault that left a 22-year-old man injured.
Police were called to a residence on Warwick Avenue Thursday afternoon for a report of a man bleeding. When officers arrived, Antonio Rivera said at least two males had forced their way in and assaulted him. Police said Rivera indicated that at least one of them had a gun but that no shots were fired.
Rivera was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
It wasn't immediately known if the men took anything. They are believed to have fled in a dark-colored SUV.
The investigation is continuing.
