WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) _ A backpack containing the message "USA Bomb'' was found this weekend in the yard of a home in Woonsocket.
A resident of the three-family home, 55-year-old Nimer Ead, tells The Providence Journal he called police after a neighbor noticed the black-and-tan backpack in his yard near Woonsocket High School on Saturday.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations says the residents of the home are Muslim, and they believe the backpack may have been left there in response to the Boston Marathon bombings.
The group called on authorities to investigate the incident as a hate crime.
