EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A police chase that began in Fall River, Mass., ended in Rhode Island when the suspects' car crashed into a utility pole.

Police told WPRI-TV that officers began pursuing the car in Fall River on Monday night and followed it into East Providence, where it crashed just after 11 p.m. near the corner of Pawtucket and Warren avenues.

Authorities aren't saying yet whether the two people in the car were injured, whether charges have been filed or what prompted the chase.

East Providence police are expected to release more information Tuesday.
