NewsRadio 920 WHJJ and the Associated Press

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The family that owns Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus has released an open letter of thanks to the people of Providence for their response after an accident that sent eight hair-hanging acrobats plummeting to the ground.

Kenneth, Nicole, Alana and Juliette Feld released the letter Friday.

They express their thanks for what they say is the overwhelming care and positive energy, and say they are deeply touched by the kind thoughts.

They also commend first responders who cared for the injured performers, calling them superheroes, and say the medical team at Rhode Island Hospital continues to be incredible.

They say they look forward to bringing the circus back to Providence next year.

Seven of the eight acrobats injured in Sunday's accident are still at the Hospital.
