LINCOLN, R.I. (AP) _ Rhode Island state police say they've made the first arrest at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln related to the Las Vegas-style betting games that began there last month.
A detective with the state police gaming enforcement unit arrested 46-year-old Steven Sabitoni of Lincoln on a larceny charge Wednesday.
State police say Sabitoni was at a blackjack table and stole $250 worth of chips from the person sitting next to him. Authorities say the detective verified the theft by viewing casino surveillance video, and the casino permanently banned Sabitoni from the premises.
Sabitoni was released on $1,000 personal recognizance after being arraigned in District Court.
Sabitoni couldn't be reached for comment Thursday. His phone number is unlisted, and it's not clear if he has a lawyer.
