PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The family of a disabled Providence boy is pleading with thieves to return a $7,000, specialized tricycle that was stolen from their home.

The tricycle was made for the 13-year-old boy and donated to the family by a children's hospital. The family noticed it was missing from their Tanner Street home on Monday.

The boy had been at Boston Children's Hospital the past three years being treated for water on his brain.

Relatives say the boy's uncle had taken the tricycle out of the garage to clean it before it was stolen. The family hoped the tricycle would help the teen get his strength back.

Anyone with information about the tricycle is urged to call Providence police. It has a large blue frame and white trim.
