PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The price of a gallon of regular gas in Rhode Island is up 2 cents this week, to an average of $3.46.

A weekly survey by AAA Southern New England released Monday finds the average price for a gallon of gas in Rhode Island is 17 cents higher than the national average of $3.29, or 5 percent higher.

But from last year at this time, the price has fallen 28 cents from $3.74, a drop of about 7 percent.
