PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Superior Court judge has told a Providence jury to keep working for a verdict in the murder trial of a man accused of participating in the killing of a 12-year-old girl in Providence last year.

Luis Gonzalez, known as Fat Boy, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Aynis Vargas outside a graduation party.

The jury is in its third day of deliberations. It told Judge Robert Krause on Monday that it reached unanimous verdicts on some counts, but not all. They asked to be hung on the rest, but the judge told them it was their duty to decide the case if they can.

Prosecutors say Gonzalez and four others were in the neighborhood seeking revenge for a friend's killing. The others pleaded guilty.
