Lobbyist Asked to File More on $10,000 Fox Loan

NewsRadio 920 WHJJ and the Associated Press

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The secretary of state's office says a lobbyist who gave former House Speaker Gordon Fox a recently disclosed $10,000 personal loan must file additional information.

Spokeswoman Raina Smith said Wednesday that Ray Rickman must file amended lobbying reports for 2011, 2012 and 2013. Rickman on Tuesday amended his 2009 report to show he gave Fox the loan in August 2009, but Smith says the balance must be reflected on subsequent reports.

Fox stepped down as speaker in March after the FBI and IRS raided his home and Statehouse office. Investigators haven't said what they're looking at.

The loan was not reported until last month, when Fox disclosed it to the state ethics commission.

Smith says the office will hold a hearing regardless.

Rickman did not immediately return a message.
