NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — Police in North Kingstown say an early-morning motorcycle crash has left one man dead.

Police responding to a 911 call reporting the crash at about 1:43 a.m. Saturday found a heavily damaged motorcycle lying near the intersection of Kingstown Road and Waites Corner Road. The officers found the motorcycle driver several feet away in a dense brush, with severe injuries.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and then took him to South County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials did not immediately release his identity because they had not notified relatives.
