NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — North Providence police are trying to determine the cause of a violent, one-car crash that killed a person and appeared to split the vehicle into two pieces.
The accident happened on Mineral Spring Avenue near the Pawtucket line at about 1 a.m. Thursday. Witnesses say a body was in the road and the car was mangled.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
Authorities closed the road and called a medical examiner to the scene.
