PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Providence police say they have a suspect in a shooting that left an aspiring rapper dead and his sister wounded.
A warrant has been issued charging 18-year-old Joseph Taylor with murder and felony assault in last Wednesday's shooting on Wendell Street.
Davon Taylor, who went by the stage name "Splashy Roc," and 15-year-old Destiny Taylor were sitting in a car when they were shot.
Police say Joseph Taylor is not related to the siblings, but they believe he knew Davon Taylor.
Joseph Taylor is from the Silver Lake neighborhood and Davon Taylor was from Manton Heights, and police say a neighborhood rivalry may have played a role in the shooting.
