JAMESTOWN, R.I. (AP) — Police have identified the Massachusetts man who they say fell from some rocks while fishing in Jamestown.

The Providence Journal reports the victim was identified Thursday as 57-year-old Hok Ly of Lowell.

Authorities said the man was fishing with a friend Wednesday morning at Beavertail State Park when he apparently lost his footing and fell from the rocks into heavy surf. Emergency responders pulled Ly's body from the water along the steep, rocky shoreline.

The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office.
