SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) —

Police in South Kingstown say a rabid fox that attacked two people has been killed.

WPRI-TV reported that authorities said the animal was found and killed Wednesday. No information was immediately released about the attacks or any injuries to the victims.

Police said the animal traveled from Albro Lane, near Route 1 and Old Tower Hill Road, to the YMCA on Broad Rock Road. After it was euthanized, its body was turned over to the state health department for testing.

Police are urging anyone who came in contact with the animal to call them.
