PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) — An English teacher at Shea High School in Pawtucket has been charged with possessing child pornography.
State police say they arrested 46-year-old George Grimes of Warwick on Thursday, and school officials say they placed him on indefinite administrative leave. Authorities say there's no evidence Grimes had inappropriate contact with children.
Officials say the investigation began when the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about someone uploading child porn images to a cloud-based storage account. Police say they executed a search warrant at Grimes' home and found child pornography.
Grimes was released on $10,000 personal recognizance. No one answered the phone at his home Friday morning. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
