LINCOLN, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island man has been charged with molesting an 11-year-old boy and possessing child pornography.

State and Coventry police say 21-year-old Andrew King of Lincoln was arrested Wednesday, two days after a relative of the boy told authorities that the boy had received numerous suspicious text messages from King.

The state police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force analyzed the boy's phone. Police say the content of text messages between the boy and King indicated that sexual images had been exchanged, but were deleted at King's direction.

King is charged with first- and second-degree child molestation, indecent solicitation of a child and possession of child pornography. He's being held without bail pending a court hearing April 22. It's not clear if he has lawyer.
