PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island health officials say it's safe to swim again at Scarborough Beach.
The state Department of Health on Friday said it has recommended the re-opening to swimmers of the beach in Narragansett. Results from water samples showed that bacteria levels had fallen to within acceptable limits.
The health department monitors water quality at Rhode Island beaches through the summer months.
All Rhode Island beaches appeared to be safe for swimming heading into the weekend, according to the department's beach water quality web page.
