Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed said Thursday that she has named Thomas L. Papa to the post.

Papa has worked as the associate director of the government relations firm F/S Capitol Consulting, LLC since 2009. He was previously a legislative agent for the Rhode Island State Association of Fire Fighters. He retired from the Woonsocket Fire Department as a captain.
