PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — U.S. Sens. Jack Reed and Barbara Mikulski are scheduled to visit the T.F. Green Airport to see changes underway and meet with state and local officials to discuss ways to create jobs, strengthen Rhode Island's infrastructure and support economic and community development projects.

Mikulski, D-Md., the chairwoman of the Senate's Appropriations Committee, plans to meet Reed in Rhode Island on Tuesday. Reed also serves on the committee.

Reed said he wants Mikulski to see the efforts to modernize the airport and expand the runway, as well as the plans to improve traffic flow and boost economic development in Warwick and the surrounding area. They also plan to meet with representatives from the Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence and Providence ¡CityArts! for Youth.
