Victim Says He was Stabbed at Providence Bus Stop

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police are investigating after a Providence man said he was stabbed in the neck while waiting for a bus.

The 60-year-old victim, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital after the incident on Saturday morning.

Police Lt. John Ryan told the Providence Journal that the man told investigators he was standing at a street corner waiting for a bus when another man approached him and struck him several times in the neck. The victim later discovered that he had been stabbed three times in the neck.

Police said the man's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

No arrests were reported.
