Rhode Island Minority Business Accelerator Announces 2024 Workshop Series Starting March 26 At the Northern RI Chamber in Lincoln.
SCORE RI, The Northern RI Chamber of Commerce and Commerce RI have teamed up to provide a second series of workshops designed to help minority and women owned businesses improve their operations and financial results in 2024 and beyond.
Businesses that participated in the workshop series in 2023 resoundingly agreed that the program provided them with practical tools and best practices to improve operations, marketing, sales and revenues. The MBA (Minority Business Accelerator) program consists of six workshops designed to help owners run their business more effectively and efficiently by focusing on key performance areas, 1) setting meaningful goals, 2) managing time, people and resources, 3) increasing sales, 4) marketing and 5) managing finances and cash flows. For the sixth and final session we will provide valuable information on how to obtain DEDI Certification (MBE/WBE certified) for improved credibility when seeking government and private contracts.
In addition to the workshops, business owners will be pared with SCORE volunteer mentors who bring years of business experience and expertise in all areas of operations and management to address the special needs and challenges of each owners’ business.
Veteran SCORE mentor Maureen McNamara who heads up the program said in the announcement that “the overwhelming success of the first MBA series in 2023, made the executive team realize that our workshops combined with one-on-one mentoring provides effective tools and knowledge that can be employed with measureable results.”
Qualification: To be eligible for this program, businesses must be woman or minority owned and have been in business for at least two years.
