“Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. My personal preference was for Lux, but I found Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor”

State Senator Josh Miller apologized for swearing at Dan Bidondi of Truthradio.com back on March 18th in the State House rotunda after a hearing on a gun bill. Biondi posted the video on YouTube Tuesday in which Bidondi, mike in hand,  is seen  approaching  Miller stating “the Second Amendment shall not be infringed, you people need to understand that.” Sporting a broad smile, Miller then suggests Bidondi go forth and multiply WITH himself.

Of course, I paraphrase the good Cranston senator. Bidondi, whom Miller accused of antagonizing an elderly veteran before swinging his camera in the senator’s direction, is known as a bit of an antagonist within the walls of the State House when it comes to gun legislation.

The social media savvy Bidondi even “looped” the video so Miller was seen repeating his suggested sexual exercise (that not even Gumby is capable of) over and over again in rapid fire.

To suggest the ears of the State House walls are virgin to such Stevedore type lingo is naïve at best but one ALWAYS has to remember SOMEONE is watching and listening 24/7 in this social media age. To his credit, Miller issued a formal apology saying “regardless of the emotions and the atmosphere of the moment, it does not justify the language I used that day. Out of respect of the decorum of the State House and the constituents I represent, I offer my apologies.”

Shake It Up

So a House Majority Leader ascends to Speaker of the House. News Flash here in Rhode Island. I spoke with House Minority Leader Brian Newberry (R-North Smithfield) on the show Wednesday morning (listen here) and he told me he thinks the new Speaker, Nicholas Mattiello will “shake things up” as Gordon Fox’ replacement. Later on the show, House Minority Whip Joe Trillo (R-Warwick) agreed. The lawmakers later tackled the burning issue of whether to make Calamari the official appetizer in Rhode Island.
