A Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Buckhead, Georgia was so confident in the lead the Falcons had built over the New England Patriots Sunday night that its employees began stocking shelves with championship gear in the third quarter of the game!!!
Yup, Dick’s employees started putting out shirts, hats and other apparel emblazoned with the words “World Champion Falcons” in anticipation of the Falcons finishing the job with plans to open immediately after the game.
But then, it was Tom Brady and the Patriots that made really underscored the store’s name when he erased a 28-3 deficit in the second half and came back to 34-28 in overtime, completing one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.
Meaning the store employees had to stay late to take down all of that mislabeled merch.
Looks like they went in to overtime, as well.
