Cranston Police Hand Out Citations To Homeless Advocates

(Cranston, RI)  --  Cranston Police are enforcing the city's new panhandling ordinance and advocates for the homeless are among those who have received citations.  Officers handed out 15 citations yesterday to protestors at Sockanosset Cross Road and New London Avenue.  The Rhode Island Homeless Advocacy Project was giving drivers fliers explaining the opposition.  Instead they now have to pay $85.
