(Central Falls, RI) -- Central Falls Police say a suspect is in custody in connection with a deadly shooting. Authorities say the shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. yesterday at 4 King Street when 20-year-old Mael Vasquez claims to have shot an intruder in the basement. Officers say 43-year-old Maurice Botelho was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Vasquez is being held on a charge of possession of a stolen firearm. The investigation is ongoing.
