(Providence, RI) -- An Air Quality Alert is in effect for this afternoon through tonight. The alert is due to an increase in ground-level ozone concentrations. The combination of warm temperatures, sunshine, and pollution leads to poor air quality. Those potentially impacted are children, the elderly, and those with underlying respiratory diseases. It's recommended they stay in an air-conditioned area.
