(East Providence, RI) -- An East Providence man is behind bars on charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend. Police say that 41-year old Jennifer Silva was found in the driveway at 85 Warren Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday and taken to Rhode Island Hospital where she died. Her boyfriend 31-year old Allen J. Hanson initially told investigators that Silva was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Further investigation led authorities to determine Silva's injuries were from a domestic altercation with Hanson.
