Six Convicted Of Violating Cranston Anti-Solicitation Ordinance

(Cranston RI)  --  Six people convicted yesterday of violating Cranston's new anti-solicitation ordinance say they will appeal.  The case stems from a March 27th demonstration at Sockanosset Crossroads and New London Turnpike, where the six, advocating for the homeless, handed fliers to motorists.  Several of the defendants claim they were advocating their free speech right, but they were caught on police video interacting with motorists, which is against the ordinance.
