(Providence, RI) -- A Providence police officer is suing the city in federal court for discrimination. Eugene Chin is a 15-year veteran of the police department and claims he was passed over for a promotion because he's Chinese-American. Chin also claims he was not offered any overtime shifts after he returned from two months of medical leave due to a car crash. A review found him to be the cause of the crash. The city would not comment on pending litigation.
