(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island District Court Judge Rafael Ovalles is fighting a recommendation that he be removed from the bench. Ovalles' attorneys filed a petition Tuesday rejecting the state's Commission on Judicial Tenure and Discipline recommendation. Earlier this month, the commission found Ovalles committed 41 violations of the state's Code of Judicial Conduct. The commission will have 40 days to respond to Ovalles' attorneys once they have submitted supporting information to their claim.
