(Providence, RI) -- Personnel with the Providence Department of Public Property are removing the red paint splashed on a statue of Christopher Columbus. The vandalism was discovered yesterday morning and police are conducting an investigation. It's not known how much it will cost to clean the statue, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
