(Providence, RI) -- National Grid is seeking a rate increase and it's not going over well with state officials. The utility is asking for a 6% increase in electric bills and a 5% increase on gas bills. Governor Raimondo says families and small business owners are already hurt by high energy costs. The new rates would raise more than seventy-one million dollars annually for the utility to cover increased operating costs.
