Animal Shelter Under Quarantine

(East Providence, RI)  --  The East Providence animal shelter is under quarantine after some rescued puppies were diagnosed with parvovirus.  The puppies were rescued last week from squalid conditions on Floyd Avenue and one of them has died.  The shelter had to throw out all of its supplies and is now in need of blankets, towels and food for puppies and kittens.  The quarantine is expected to be lifted in more than a week.
