RI Joins Lawsuit Against EPA Administrator

(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Kilmartin is part of a new lawsuit filed against the Environmental Protection Agency for a lack of regulations to curb pollution. Fourteen states banded together Thursday to file the suit, which charges EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt with violating the federal Clean Air Act by delaying its obligation to control methane emissions from current oil and gas operations. Kilmartin says since Pruitt has taken over the EPA, the agency has largely abandoned its watchdog role in holding polluters accountable.
