Trump Picks Judge Whose Nomination Was Stalled

(Washington, DC)  --  President Trump is nominating a familiar name for a federal judge seat in Rhode Island.  The White House said on Tuesday that Trump intends to select Mary McElroy to serve as district judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.  McElroy was recommended by Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse in 2015, but her nomination stalled.  She currently serves as Rhode Island's public defender.
