Legionnaires' Disease Reported At Providence Nursing Home

(Providence, RI)  --  Three cases of Legionnaires' disease are being confirmed at a Providence nursing home.  The Rhode Island Department of Health says the cases were diagnosed at Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Providence since the middle of August.  Bacteria was detected in the facility's water supply, which is being treated, according to a health department spokesperson.  Health officials reportedly met with residents of the commons and their families to discuss the issue on Thursday.
