(Bristol, RI) -- A new poll shows Democratic Governor Gina Raimondo opening a lead on her Republican opponent. The poll from Roger Williams University and WPRI-TV, released on Thursday, indicates Raimondo has a 43-to-36-percent lead on Cranston Mayor Allan Fung. The last poll authorized by the university and TV station in July had Raimondo with just a two-point-two-percent lead over Fung. The latest survey also found that Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has a lead of nearly 19 percent over Republican challenger Robert Flanders.
