Wedding Officiant From RI Facing New Charges

(Yarmouth, MA)  --  The Rhode Island minister who was facing charges for allegedly stealing from attendees at a wedding he officiated in the Ocean State is now being charged for his involvement in a wedding in the Bay State.  The police department in Yarmouth, Massachusetts says it has obtained a warrant for the arrest of James Stern of Portsmouth for larceny and impersonating a public official.  A woman who reported she had been married by Stern last month on Cape Cod said her bridal party reported misuse of their credit cards, and she was told by police that her marriage was deemed invalid because Stern was not licensed in Massachusetts.  The Yarmouth PD says the case is active and additional charges may follow.
