Flooding Problem Getting Fixed On Belfield Drive

(Johnston, RI)  --  Progress is being made on the flooding situation on Belfield Drive in Johnston.  The Providence Journal reports since state emergency management officials installed a massive water pump, there has been significant receding of flood waters.  A broken culvert in the Pocasset River combined with heavy rain this fall is being blamed for the issue that has cut off residents living on the dead-end road.  The federal government is offering to buy two homes to knock them down and convert them into a flood plain.
