(Providence, RI) -- A case of a driver slamming into a Providence police vehicle is being resolved. WPRI-TV reports city resident Jose Hernandez pleaded guilty yesterday to DUI and driving unlicensed following a crash early Sunday morning at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Arch Street. Police say Hernandez hit a cruiser, causing serious front-end damage and leading to the officer who was driving to be hospitalized with minor injuries. Hernandez was sentenced to one year of probation, and was ordered to perform community service and attend alcohol education classes.
