Lincoln Town Clerk Resigns Over Liquor License Issuance

(Lincoln, RI)--The town clerk of Lincoln has resigned following questions about whether a liquor license was properly issued.The Valley Breeze reports the Lincoln town administrator said he accepted the resignation of Karen Allen on Tuesday.Allen had been on leave since February.Residents in the village of Albion claimed they did not receive notices about a new restaurant, called Vine and Tap, seeking a liquor license.WJAR-TV reports the restaurant owners withdrew the liquor license application on Tuesday before the town council was set to take a vote on the matter.
