The Happiest Nations In The World

These days it seems like few people are all that happy in the U.S., but there are definitely parts of the world where happiness is the norm among residents, and a new report reveals which nations are the happiest overall.

The U.N. Sustainable Development Solutions Network just released their annual World Happiness Report ranking 156 countries based on happiness factors like life expectancy, social support and corruption. Topping the list this year is Finland lands on top, with a score of 7.769 out of ten, with several Nordic countries making the Top Ten including Norway, Denmark and Iceland.

As for the U.S., it drops one spot from last year to 19, and when it comes to factors that make up a happy country, American doesn’t make the Top Ten in any area except income, where it’s 10th. In fact, it comes in 12th for generosity, 37th for social support, 42nd for corruption, and shockingly, 61st for freedom.
