Former U.S. Attorney Says Trump Not Out Of Legal Jeopardy

Like many Democrats,Preet Bharara says President Trump is not out of legal jeopardy with the arrival the Mueller Report. The former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York tells CNN's “State of the Union” that "people shouldn't be taking victory laps or jumping off bridges" just because Special Counsel Robert Mueller finished his investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and is not recommending further indictments.

Bharara, who you might recall was fired by President Trump, reminds everyone that federal investigations into Trump's inaugural committee and charitable foundation remain open.

Explaining that Mueller’s scope was far narrower than the other investigations currently open, Bharara says results elsewhere could be far more interesting. “They’re aggressive and tough and independent and fair and apolitical,” he notes. “And if there’s things that they think are worth pursuing and charging, they will do so.”
