(Undated) -- Stop and Shop and the unions representing about 31-thousand workers in New England are announcing a tentative contract agreement. Sunday's announcement ends an eleven-day strike that began on April 11th, and spokespeople for both the grocery store and the unions say workers will go back on the job on Monday. Each of the unions must vote to ratify the contract. In a joint statement, the unions say the agreement preserves health care and retirement benefits, provides wage increases, and maintains time-and-a-half pay on Sunday for current members.

(Warwick, RI) -- Two people are dead and two others are dealing with injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Warwick on Sunday. The Rhode Island State Police says it happened on I-95 northbound at around 4 a.m. A vehicle reportedly went off the highway and struck a tree. Police say fatigue and excessive speed may have been factors.

(Providence, RI) -- A Providence man is being sentenced to life in prison for a murder. The state attorney general's office says during a crime spree in 2017, Nathan Spardello broke into the home of his estranged wife in Providence and assaulted her and two others, then later stabbed Luis Carillo in a separate residence in the city, causing Carillo's death. Spardello pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and other charges connected to the incidents last week.

(Providence, RI) -- New data is showing a continuing decline of graduation rates for English language learners in Rhode Island. The state department of education released a report on Friday indicating English learners had a graduation rate of seventy-one-point-seven percent last year, compared to seventy-two-point-four percent in 2017 and about 75 percent in 2016. The overall high school graduation rate last year was 84 percent for the second consecutive year.

(Providence, RI) -- There is a new technology being used to fight plastic pollution in the Providence River. It's a trash skimmer which is being hosted by The Hot Club, a business near the Fox Point Marina in Rhode Island's capital city. The non-profit group Clean Ocean Access is looking to improve the health of all of Southern New England's harbors and marinas. The organization has previously installed four trash skimmers on Aquidneck Island.

(Providence, RI) -- The Providence Bruins are even in their first-round American Hockey League playoff series with the Charlotte Checkers after two games. The P-Bruins are actually the lower seed but hosted the first two games Saturday and Sunday at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Charlotte won Game 1, 5-to-4, then Providence won Game 2, 4-to-2. Game 3 of the best-of-five series is in Charlotte on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
