State Senator Wants More Towns To Become "Second Amendment Sanctuaries"

(Undated)--A Rhode Island state senator is asking the towns in her representation to follow the lead of the town of Burrillville in adopting a "Second Amendment sanctuary" resolution.Senator Elaine Morgan has sent a letter to the town councils and police chiefs in Hopkinton, Charlestown, Exeter, Richmond and West Greenwich requesting the action.The Burrillville Town Council adopted a resolution last month saying the town supports its police department's right to use discretion when enforcing gun laws, and that the town won't pay for the storage of weapons that are seized as a result of a law banning a specific kind of firearm.
