RISP Detective Honored For Heroism During Vegas Shooting

(North Scituate, RI)--A Rhode Island State Police trooper was honored on Thursday for heroic acts during the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.Detective Conor O'Donnell was given a service ribbon, the highest honor a state trooper can receive, during an annual ceremony held during National Police Week.O'Donnell and his girlfriend were among the thousands attending a music festival when a gunman opened fire from a hotel, killing dozens.The state police says O'Donnell worked to help victims while the shooting was happening and afterwards, leading numerous people to a makeshift triage center.
