(Providence, RI)--The state Department of Transportation is making public its proposal for repairing the Henderson Bridge, connecting Providence and East Providence.RIDOT says the structurally-deficient bridge would be reduced to one lane in each direction for motorists and a protected bike and pedestrian lane would be created.There would also be several roundabouts installed on each side.RIDOT received 70-million dollars in additional highway funding for this project earlier this year and is hoping to get construction started by next spring.
