A Danish brewery is on their way to making paper beer bottles.
Yesterday, the Carlsberg beer company said it is working on two prototypes of a wood fiber beer bottle it hopes to bring to market. The company says the bottles are recyclable and sustainably-sourced. One prototype is lined with a thin film of recycled plastic to keep beer from seeping out, and the other prototype uses a bio-based lining.
A spokesperson for Carlsberg said the fiber bottles will be better for the environment, and that their production reduces carbon emissions. They won’t replace the bottles or can they have, just give customers a green option.
