There May Be A French Fry Shortage Coming

A French fry shortage could be on the horizon.

Bloomberg reports that potato production in the U.S. and Canada this autumn was hit hard by an early frost, snow and rain. Now, processors are scrambling to buy up what's left of the harvest so that there's not a shortage of fries across the country.

East Coast growers say they aren’t concerned because production there has been steady. Potato production in the U.S. is at its lowest point since 2010.

In a nutshell, be prepared to pay more for french fries or go without… and if it doesn’t happen, we can relax!
