Court Rules President Trump Must Turn Over Financial Records

A federal appeals court is ruling tha tPresidentTrump's financial records must be handed over to the U.S. House of Representatives. A three-judge panel from Second Court of Appeals in New York is ordering Deutsche Bank and Capital One to comply with the subpoena for Trump's records.

The order will take effect in seven days, giving the Trump Administration time for an appeal to the Supreme Court to block it. Trump's attorney Jay Sekulow says they are evaluating their options but they believe the subpoena is "invalid as issued." A Deutsche Bank spokesperson said the company will "abide" by the court order and they are committed to providing the appropriate information.

House Democrats have been seeking Trump's financial records for a number of investigations. They claimed they need them for a wider investigation into money laundering and foreign influence in U.S. politics.
